The girl?

I'm Brittany.  I write Young Adult novels, and blog about makeup and my health issues, but photography is one of my favorite hobbies.  Such a favorite that I decided it needed it's own little dusty, cozy corner on the Internet.

The name?

Otter the Box is a play on out of the box. I love otters and I think it's adorable. Isn't it? Yes. Kudos to my friend Ariel for thinking of it instead of doing coursework.

The angle?

Black and white, and candids are my absolute favorites. Black and white just adds so much more soul to a picture. I love doing candids and capturing moments that others might miss, secret moments, moments when people act raw and don't think others are looking. I find most of posing ends in stressed, fake smiles. So I always go for candids. People are not my favorite to shoot, so I try to stay with the architecture, nature and landscape shots.

Anything else?

I like rain, animals that hold still for a shot, and eating chocolate chips straight from the bag.
